Yakiniku-tei Ao-chan

I had a unpleasant experience at this restaurant during a birthday dinner. Only two of us were there initially, and despite ordering food while waiting for the rest, we were seated at the farthest spot from the cubicle entrance. To make matters worse, when the staff brought our dishes, they placed them at the opposite end, forcing me to move the dishes myself. Did they not notice that no one was seated there to pass me the food? They didn't even bother to explain what they were serving. This level of service is completely unacceptable for a Japanese restaurant. I left feeling extremely disappointed.

First time here as the restaurant has good reviews. Well, it’s real They served quality beef, the portion and thickness of meats are well cut. Little to no odour or smoke, good job on the ventilation part! We ordered the Prime Beef Course Came along with salad, ox tail soup, rice and assorted beef Also, Iberian Pork assorted set Wagyu Premium set Meat assorted Japanese tea (free flow) 2 paxs only and could finished all Meats are so juicy and tender. Will come again!

Hands down the best yakiniku place in Singapore. I've been going here for years but today is my first time having their set lunch. Value for money for the quality of meat they serve. My favourite is the ox tongue. Give it a try! I'd recommend making a reservation before heading down. This place is almost always full. A testament of how good this place is.

$$: $156 for 2pax. $78/pax ~ 6 dishes + 2drinks I was super stoked as it was my first time eating at an authentic Japanese bbq restaurant and it surpassed my expectations! We asked the staff for recommendations and they were kind enough to do so as they were unstaffed and very busy. The meat was premium quality 👌 ordered both beef and pork and it was delicious with their in-house sauce. 100% satisfied and looking forward to the next visit!!

For the umpteenth number of times I've frequented Cuppage Plaza for Japanese fare I have not once thought to find such an absolutely amazing yakiniku place at the across the street at Concorde Hotel. Just from a quick glance at the menu, purely the extensive range of meat cuts Yakinikutei Ao-Chan was offering was already exciting - ranging from gyutan, harami, karubi to offal for beef, and a similarly exciting line-up for pork ranging from belly, loin, tontoro to the very premium iberico secreto cut. While gas grills aren't typically my go-to for yakiniku, the quality of the meat here definitely shines through. Aside from the other cuts we ordered we also ordered the assorted set which came with an assortment of beef and pork cuts along with an ox-tail soup and one of the each of the garlic fried rice and ume rice. The meat cuts were delightful indeed, but the rice was also surprisingly good. The garlic fried rice was aromatic and packed a punch while not being cloying and the ume rice was fragrantly tangy and appetising. We paired the meal with the Wakatake Onna Nakase Junmai Daiginjo, which balanced out the grilled meats very well - hints of ripe fruits and plums with a long finish. With all that said, for what they are offering, Yakinikutei Ao-Chan is reasonably priced for a weeknight's dinner, while still offering premium cuts to spice up the meal. It is recommended for you to come in a group to sample all the cuts available.
